Life of a woman

Self and brothers visited a place to attend a funeral of a woman. The scenes we saw there before the lost journey was much painful. To understand that we have to go back to 70s. One Mrs.Gomathi was born in a traditional family. She being very noble and suffering a lot to get basic needs. One uncle (fraternal) was living with minimum income with his children. This Gomathi being motherless and her father also lost his eyes while working in Mettur Dam. From that day her father’s younger brother kept him with his family and gave him food, clothing & shelter. With all difficulties Gomati spent days with little money and with the help of her uncle (father’s younger brother). Gomati appeared for state board service commission and got a LDC clerk job. On getting the job immediately she fell in love with one person belonging to other community and led her life. He got married with one lady from his own community. That fellow was keen in getting all money from her. Finally he started beating her and getting all jewels and money for his family. At last On one occasion before a week’s time he has given some unwanted and harmful medicine for some pain. He got a letter herself declaring that she takes some medicine for some pain and consequently she alone is responsible for this. She expired and there was a big debate and kattapanchat for cremation and sharing her properties. We related to her as cousins we could not help her in any way, she also kept away from sharing information and seeking for our help. So we conveyed to her close associates (her professional colleagues) who were all along helping her we don’t need anything from her earnings. Ultimately one close associate of her cremated her without any chanting of mantras and any rituals. We learned from this that a woman belong to one culture deviates and goes out of that family she will have this pathetic and cruel death and very bad end. From this we request please don’t come out of your tradition and family to avoid such a very ridicules end. We pray for that noble soul to rest in peace.
